The Romance of the Hills

Love of the fells For many the Lake District and Scotland are not just places to go walking or to be at one with the outdoors, but on many hundreds of occasions it's also been the start of a blossoming relationship.  Whether it's the fresh air, the vigorous exercise, the majesty of the hills, some post walk refreshments or perhaps a combination of them all, the Lake District and Scotland have certainly given their blessing to a fair share of loving couples out there!
Judging by the number of wedding photographs with hills and mountains as a backdrop, there is certainly no sign of the fells and hills' waning popularity as a place of romance.  I saw a thankyou letter today, sent by a newly married couple to a hotel in the Lake District after their wonderful wedding, reception and honeymoon there.  If my parents' own story is anything to go by, their marriage of 42 years started with a honeymoon in Keswick.  For the rest of their lives together, until my father's untimely death in 2010, The Lake District was their favoured destination and one to which they returned many times, finally retiring there in 1993.  My mum still loves a trip to Keswick on the bus to reminisce.

I know that today, many people exchange gifts on Valentine's Day and for the romantics amongst you, it might well include a quiet dinner for two in a Lakeland pub or even a night or two away in Scotland.  You might not have seen it yet, but why not award your spouse's loyalty with a copy of either Tubular Fells or my Scottish map, MunrOverground.  Show your undying love in many ways, but if you'rs passionate about the hills nearly as much as you are about your better half, then Tubular Fells or MunrOverground might just prove a winner!  If you wish, the creator will even inscribe the map(s) for you.

At the moment, postage and packing is just £2.70 for the first map and free after that.  What better gift, buy one each!

It's one of the most original Lakeland products we've seen in years.
